The Degeneracy of the Democrat-Left
Agenda
To say that the organizations which are charged
with presenting to American readers and viewers at least verifiable and
confirmable factual descriptions of the events they deal with have abrogated
their journalistic responsibility in favor of skewing the "news"
they put forth in such a way that it supports an agenda based on the hatred
of traditional conservative values and those who represent and would promulgate
those values is an understatement.
Democrats Unhinged?
I've really been trying to make sense of the
Democratic strategy of late let's put aside for a moment the fact
that I seriously question whether that's even possible. Are Dems really
so bereft of serious issues to address that they have to keep flogging
this "Bush lied" thing until it eventually sinks them?
Don't Ask, Don't Bend Over In the
Shower
Initially presented by the left as a bold and
sweeping attempt to "reform" America's armed services by requiring
them to ignore the sexual orientation of their recruits (as well as the
soldiers, sailors, marines, and national guardsmen already enlisted),
Clinton's don't-ask-don't-tell policy degenerated into one which, finally,
became a mockery of the supposedly well-intentioned impulse from which
it sprung.
Zarqawi May Have Acted On Bad Intelligence
A recently released apology by the terrorist
Abu Musab al Zarqawi indicates that he in fact might not have intended
to target the members of a wedding party who were celebrating at the Radisson
Hotel in Amman, Jordan, and that, in fact, he may have been the victim
of "bad intelligence" when he gave the order to go ahead with
three terrorist bombings in that city that killed upwards of 60 innocent
Arabs.
How Democrats Marginalize Their Constituencies
Democrats continue to claim to be the party
of "the people," but where the rubber meets the road, Democrats
routinely fail to deliver. Among the "people" Democrats would
claim to represent are, to give you one example, regular Americans, folks
who grew up listening to the music of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd
and who understand that they are not the ignorant, racist rednecks the
liberal media and Neil Young portray them to be. Rather, they're folks
who choose to make their political decisions on a case-by-case basis.
Conservatives v. the Liberal Undead
Discovering that you weren't alone in holding
your conservative views must have been, during the 1990s, something like
waking up in the middle of the night and discovering that you were surrounded
by vampires.
Euros, Dems,
and Kofi's Cronies
What jumps outwith regard to the UN oil-for-food
scandal is not only the enormity, as measured by its sheer dollar-volume,
of a story I hope will be at some point be granted legitimate "scandal"
status by the mainstream media, but also the broad scope of the collusion
and corruption that necessarily had to occur for something of this magnitude
to go unnoticed for such a long time.
The Blue Badge of Courage
Although there are many things that struck me about
yesterday's election in Iraq, the overwhelming impression I took away
from following the day's events as they unfolded was a sense of the utter
courage of the Iraqi people in the face of what would surely have been
for so many of us the debilitating threat of terrorist violence.
What Role Are Islamists Playing In
the Tsunami Relief Effort?
One of the immediate reactions of Islamists (and
environmentalists, by the way, who are cut from the same cloth with regard
to their hatred of the Great Satan) was that the United States somehow
caused the enormous and tragic loss of Muslim lives in the disaster that
befell the world's most populous Muslim countries.
Teddy Kennedy on Education
In a recent (1/12/05) talk, entitled "A Democratic
Blueprint for America's Future," to the National Press Club, Senator
Edward "Teddy" Kennedy (D-MA) addressed, among other things,
the issue of education in America by proposing a formalized "Contract
With Students."
The Impending Success In the War
Against Islamo-Fascists
It is truly remarkable, to my way of thinking, that
The New York Times, despite the fact that there are hundreds of accomplished
writers out there, finds it impossible to find even one who represents
a political position in opposition to the neo-Communist leftist politics
the paper espouses so virulently.
Getting Some Perspective On Democrat
Politics
The past few months have certainly brought to the
fore any number of what psychologists and other so-called "mental
health professionals" would identify as "presenting issues"
with regard to the schism between Democrats and Republicans in the United
States.
The Case Against Medical Marijuana
There are two fairly well-defined positions that
have emerged regarding the issue, under consideration by the Supreme Court
of the United States of America, of whether the use of marijuana should
be legalized for the treatment of certain medical conditions.
The Court of Last Resort
The court system, overpopulated as it seems to be
by judges with left/liberal leanings, has been one of the Democrats' primary
means of influence for the past three decades.
Defining Degeneracy Downward
Since when did carrying out acts of war and then
declaring that you won't participate in peace negotiations until the acts
of war stop become a legitimate, logically defensible position?
Making Larry Flint Blush
We're in the midst of a technology-driven transformation
of the meaning of the word "morality" that would have been impossible
to foretell even a quarter century ago.
Inadmissable Evidence
Despite the fact that the President has not yet formulated
— let alone presented publicly — a specific set of proposals
for addressing the looming Social Security shortfall, Democrats have somehow
managed to come forth with an agenda that would "eliminate the President's
plan for private Social Security accounts" from the arena of public
debate.
The Marxist Roots of Democrat Obstructionist
Tactics
Despite the fact that the President has not yet formulated
— let alone presented publicly — a specific set of proposals
for addressing the looming Social Security shortfall, Democrats have somehow
managed to come forth with an agenda that would "eliminate the President's
plan for private Social Security accounts" from the arena of public
debate.
What the
Polls Said
As it has been with regard to virtually every political
issue since Bill Clinton took office in 1993, the principal method used
by the left to attempt to pin down what "the public" thinks
is the opinion poll.
